Coach Vazquez joined our coaching staff last year as Varsity Head Coach for our Girls Cross Country team and led the team to both County and Regional Championship titles. She returns this year as Varsity Head Coach for both Boys and Girls Cross Country teams and as Assistant Coach to the Track and Field Team. Coach Vazquez loves coaching because she enjoys teaching her runners the value of setting goals and working hard to achieve them. She believes there is nothing that can’t be accomplished with discipline, determination, and drive. Coach Vazquez is in her third year of teaching at Houston County High School, and her eighth year with Houston County Schools. She currently teaches Biology and Anatomy. She is originally from Ann Arbor Michigan, and a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. She and her family moved to Georgia, where her children attended and graduated from Houston County Schools. She also has a master’s degree in science education from Piedmont College. Coach Vazquez’s passion for running is embedded in her personal running experiences with participation in local and national events including the more recent Spartan Races. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy running, hiking, and biking.
