Katie Mullis is originally from Baxley, Georgia and now resides in Dexter, Georgia. While at West Laurens High, she was a JV Sideline and Varsity Competition Cheerleader until moving with her family to Jones County High School where she graduated. Following high school, she attended Valdosta State University where she earned a B.S. in Special Education and a Masters in Deaf Education. Coach Mullis then attended Piedmont University where she earned her Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction.

Coach Mullis has coached JV Competition/Sideline at Houston County High for 7 years. During her time coaching the JV squad, they had a record of 27-1. She has also helped coach the Varsity Squad to 7 Region Championships, 2 State Runner-Up titles, and 2 3rd place State finish. This will be her second season as the varsity assistant coach.

Coach Mullis has been married for 6 years to her husband, Dusty Mullis. Together they have 1 son, Rhett and a schnorkie, Sophie. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband on their family farm, diy-ing and being creative, and spending time with her family and friends.”
